Forgotten for Centuries
THE STORY ABOUT US
No matter when, no matter where, no matter why: the SILENT GONE have been there before, ALWAYS!
We passed away centuries ago, our stories mostly forgotten. Many of you have heard about us, many of you know the tales – and we are still gone, but not silent anymore…

Nicolas Gasparini, better known as MYUU is a classically trained pianist/composer focusing on dark ambient music. His music accompanied us in many nights designing the world of the SILENT GONE. If Hamlet’s Breed were music it would be the music of MYUU, undoubtedly. Thx man! http://www.thedarkpiano.com/ https://www.facebook.com/myuusic/ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiSKnkKCKAQVxMUWpZQobuQ
For eternal times, between December 24th and January 6th a magical aura is granted and some strange creatures, better known as the wild hunt, ride through the sky wreak havoc on these nights. In some cultures, they are described as a restless army of fallen soldiers desperatly seeking their way back home to their loved ones, in some other cultures they are described as criminals or huntsmen who atone for…
[morbid:MONDAY]:[act3:MONGOLIAN SKY BURIAL]
Buddhists in Mongolia believe in the continuity of spirits after death. While the spirit moves further to the next level, the body becomes meaningless. To give the body back to earth, where it comes from, the body is crushed/chopped into pieces and transported to special places, mostly at the top of mountains. Exposed to the forces of nature, even scavengers like vultures, the body will travel back home…
[silent:SUNDAY]:[act2/scene1:TEMPERAMENT & MOOD]
This time we’d like to show you how we solve the emotional setting of our Silent Gone:First, we decide whether our character is a passive or active one (perpetrator, i.e. witch hunter, or a victim, i.e. a witch) depending on a web search (based on your geolocation). The next parameter we are setting up is the status of the character (appearing, walking, standing etc.) and getting his emotional status. Knowing this,…
The classical Victorian “art” style came up when Prince Albert, Queen Victoria’s husband, died of typhoid in 1861. From this moment on, the Queen wore only black clothes – simple, but elegant – and influenced the dress code at funerals until today. But not only fashion was influenced by Queen Victoria: Architecture, fine arts and literature was seen as more profound. Approximately at this time, the style of funerals changed:…
[silent:SUNDAY]:[act1:A LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS]
When designing our ghosts we asked ourselves: How would such a creature look like, and how would it act/interact with our world? Well, after a lot of research, we found out that some physicists think that ghosts (if they exist) behave like old, fading photographies, meaning that they look like a collection of light points, maybe a little bit blurry or wishy-washy. Experimenting a lot with different styles brought us…
The first confirmed burials in ancient Sumeria happened around 5000 BC. They believed in an after-life, described as a land beneath earth (aka land of the living).Usually, they buried their deceased in constructions in the ground next to their home (you remember after-life: near to earth), so the grave could be often visited and food was brought to it, news were told, and so on. Cremation was unusal, because the…
When we saw “Ghost Cell”, a short movie by Autour de Minuit/Antoine Delacharlery for the first time, we knew: this is how the world of the SILENT GONE should look like. The pale shine of the environment and the torn appearance of pixel clouds have been exactly what we were looking for.
Christopher McKenney’s photographs influenced us a lot in an artistic way. His approach how to visualize “things that never were” is quite amazing. This surrealistic, horrific approach is something we are familiar with for sure. have a look here: https://christopher-mckenney.format.com/work
[unearth:Unreal]:[act1:GHOST CHURCH LUKOVÁ]
Maybe this work of art was the initial spark for Hamlet’s Breed: Sculptures of ghosts sitting in the old church of Luková, remembering vistors of the Sudeten Germans who went to the church every Sunday before the Second World War. These sculptures, created by Jakub Hadrava on behalf of the community of Luková, bring many visitors to this historical place each year, and they bring much needed money for the…
